Day 1
Meet at Laroche Migennes Rail Station or Auxerre for transfer to 'L'Art de Vivre' at Auxerre. After a champagne welcome, enjoy a fine dinner. (D)
Day 2
Cruise past vineyard-clad hillsides to a rural mooring at Vincelles. After lunch, head to Chablis for a tasting of the local wines at one of the town's renowned cellars. (B,L,D)
Day 3
Return to Auxerre, the original capital of Lower Burgundy, to explore the medieval town center and fine churches. This afternoon, pass rich pasturelands with grazing Charolais cattle to Mailly-la-Ville. (B,L,D)
Day 4
Visit the medieval village of Noyers, nestled in a loop of the River Serein, with its picturesque half-timbered houses and cobbled streets. In the afternoon, cruise past the Saussois Cliffs, home to an international rock climbing center. (B,L,D)
Day 5
Head out to Vézelay, one of Burgundy's most famous treasures, with its Romanesque Basilique Ste-Madeleine. There is time to browse in the craft shops before a special lunch at the charming auberge Les Millesimes. Return to 'L'Art de Vivre' and cruise to the evening mooring at Lucy-sur-Yonne. (B,L,D)
Day 6
After breakfast, cruise through the beautiful countryside to Clamecy for a tour of the cathedral and a visit to the Logging and Barging Museum. The narrow streets are lined with ancient buildings, and you have ample opportunities for shopping. In the afternoon, visit Château de Bazoches, home of Marquis de Vauban, one of the foremost military engineers of his age. The château's illustrious list of visitors includes King Philippe-Auguste and Richard the Lionheart. Return to the barge for a farewell dinner this evening. (B,L,D)
Day 7
Disembark after breakfast for your transfer to Auxerre or Laroche Migennes Rail Station, where your journey ends. (B)

Originally a British lumber carrier, 'L'Art de Vivre' is now a floating celebration of the art of living in traditional Burgundian style. In 2010, she begins a new route in Burgundy & Chablis, cruising between Auxerre and Clamecy. Visit medieval castles and quaint villages, with plenty of opportunities for wine tastings along the way.
