Viking River Cruises operates 18 vessels in some of the world's most magnificent places. The company's ships are sleek and well-appointed, with fine wood furnishings and spacious public areas. Staterooms have windows, most of which open to passing vistas, and some have French balconies. At least one port a day is visited on every Viking river cruise itinerary. Viking owns docks in many of the cities it visits, and passengers are able to disembark in the heart of town without waiting in lines or taking tenders to shore. English-speaking local guides lead tours ashore, but you can also explore on your own.

Accommodations, most meals on and off the ship, some beverages and all shore excursions are included in Viking's cruise price. Viking also features an Old World Highlights program, with authentic folkloric entertainment, lectures, cultural arts demonstrations and language lessons provided onboard and ashore.
