Day 2 – Madrid

Your panoramic tour of this cosmopolitan metropolis will show you some of Madrid’s top sights, followed by an excursion to the massive Prado Museum and its acclaimed collection of European art. This evening you’re in for a rare treat—a spectacular dinner and flamenco show at one of the finest venues in the city.
Day 3 – Madrid (Toledo)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Toledo city tour
Known as the “City of Three Cultures,” Toledo has been heavily influenced by Judaism, Christianity and Islam, all of which have peacefully co-existed here for centuries. You’ll have an opportunity today to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and its wonderfully diverse cultural heritage.
Day 4 – Madrid, Salamanca, transfer to Vega de Terrón (embark)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Full-day Salamanca tour
Travel from the Spanish border to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as “The Golden City” for the distinctive patina of its centuries-old sandstone buildings. Salamanca boasts monumental churches, a historic university and a broad public square ideally suited for people watching.
Day 5 – Barca d'Alva (Castelo Rodrigo), Pinhão,
FEATURED EXCURSION: Castelo Rodrigo tour with wine tasting
Take a guided tour of the walled village of Castelo Rodrigo, a site that dates back to the 12th century. In the evening, enjoy a Gala Dinner onboard your ship.
Day 6 – Pinhão, Régua
FEATURED EXCURSION: Port wine tasting at Quinta do Seixo
Travel from Pinhão up the steep streets to Quinta do Seixo, a prestigious and state-of-the-art Port wine estate. You’ll have an opportunity to sample some of their famous Sandeman Port and admire splendid views from the estate’s tasting room.
Day 7 – Régua (Lamego)
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Douro Museum, Lamego walking discovery tour with wine tasting at a local quinta, Mateus Palace and Gardens, and dinner at Quinta da Avessada
Learn more about the river and local winemaking traditions during your time at the Douro Museum, then take a stroll through the picturesque town of Lamego. Indulge in a tasting of sparkling wine before touring Mateus Palace and its lovely gardens. Tonight, you’ll have dinner high above the river at Quinta da Avessada.
Day 8 – Entre-os-Rios (Amarante)
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Quinta Aveleda visit with wine tasting and Amarante walking discovery tour
Take an excursion to Quinta Aveleda, famous for its gardens and its delectable Vinho Verde, which you are welcome to sample. Later, stroll through Amarante and discover the unique heritage bequeathed by the town’s patron saint, ranging from a beautiful Dominican monastery to a playful pastry.
Day 9 – Porto (Guimarães), Entre-os-Rios

Enjoy a panoramic city tour of historic, UNESCO-designated Guimarães, Portugal’s first capital and the home of its first king, Don Afonso Henriques.
Day 10 – Porto
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choice of Porto city tour OR exclusive “Do as the Locals Do” Porto walking tour, and wine cellars of Cais de Gaia
A panoramic tour of dynamic Porto will show you the city’s top sites. Or, “Do as the Locals Do,” with a walking tour that features the beautiful tile-adorned train station and what could very well be the world’s most beautiful bookstore. After lunch, visit one of the city’s famed Port cellars.
Day 11 – Porto (disembark), Coimbra, Óbidos, transfer to Lisbon hotel
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Guided stroll through Óbidos, Coimbra University visit, and family–style lunch
Travel through the beautiful countryside to Porto, stopping en route to see Coimbra, the birthplace of six Portuguese kings. The city is also home to the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest in Europe, and its splendid 18th-century library. From there, head to a local restaurant for a traditional Portuguese lunch.
Day 12 – Lisbon
FEATURED EXCURSION: Lisbon city tour
Today’s adventure begins with a guided tour of Belém Tower and a monument dedicated to Portugal’s greatest explorers. You’ll also see the spectacular Manueline Jerónimos Monastery, sample a traditional sweet—pastéis de Belém—at a famous pastry shop and see the hills of the Alfama district and Rossio Plaza.
Day 13 – Lisbon, transfer to the airport
Transfer to the Lisbon Portela Airport for your flight home.
